Serendipity is a beautiful word. My first time to hear it was when I attended the Orientation of the Chinese Instructor Training Program at Washington University in St. Louis.The Prof. mentioned this word towards all teachers as her ending of speech and she said it’s such a great and precious opportunity for us coming from different countries to gather and receive professional training, polish teaching skills, and build our social network before we are distributed to our host University or high school as a language teacher.

Currently, I’m pursuing my 2nd M.A. degree in the Early Childhood Program while working at a school. I had taught Chinese at a public high school for two years and participated in a Community ESL program as a ESL instructor while I was studying my TESOL M.A degree. I used to teach ESL adult literacy ESL classes at a non-profit organization in NYC. I am also a certified online TEFL teacher teaching customized 1 on 1 or small group classes.

It’s such an honor for you to visit The Serendipity. I will take the meaning of “Serendipity” to share my encounter and experience since I landed in the U.S. in 2017. The content may include daily life, travel, work, study, anecdote, and my excellent friends’ work/study experience sharing.
